Civil War Centennial.

On April 6-7, 1862, the Civil War’s Battle of Shiloh ended with Union forces in victory over Confederate forces in Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee. The two-day conflict was at that point the bloodiest battle in American history. The carnage was unprecedented, the human toll being the greatest of any war on the American continent to date. It left more than 23,000 dead and wounded.
