FDR
A law passed by the United States Congress in 1933 to authorize the President, Franklin D Roosevelt, to regulate industry; companies were required to write industry wide codes of fair competition that effectively fixed wages and prices, established production quotas. These codes were a form of industry self-regulation and represented an attempt to regulate and plan the entire economy. It essentially extended the length of the Great Depression.
